Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
You might have heard about “double-cleansing.” It’s the process of cleaning your face twice with two different products, one to remove makeup and another to wash every thing off. Pretty simple. This process takes it further and adds a third step, because we all got time for that…
The added step here is exfoliating with this magic stuff that I’ve recommended in a previous post and that my friends are probably tired of hearing me talk about. When I use the CeraVe at the end, I swear it foams better after I follow the first two steps of this process. Does that mean better cleaning? Feels like it. Am I a dermatologist? No. But, this makes my skin feel amazing. So, I’m going with it.
Step 1: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil – this cleansing oil removes makeup better than any other product I’ve tried and it smells like a spa. Put this on your face without water and make a big mess on your face. Go ahead and look at yourself in the mirror – it’ll be cute and terrifying. Then, splash a little water on your hands and keep making a bigger mess. Then, rinse fully.
Step 2: Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant – as the name says, you can use this daily. I exfoliate with it 2-3 times per week. Once you’ve rinsed off all that cleansing oil and makeup, tap some of this powder into your hands and then massage into your face. I do this on a dry face to maximize the exfoliation, and then slowly add some water in until it gets a little soapy, and then rinse.
Step 3: CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser – this is my tried and true facial cleanser for my sensitive skin. I’ve tried some of the fancy, trendy stuff out there, but keep going back to this. I use one pump on a wet face, massage all over, and then rinse off.
You could follow this process with any similar products, but these are the ones I got and liked the most.
