If you are planning a trip to the Caribbean, there are probably a million things you’re thinking of packing. Bathing suit? Check. Sundresses? Check. SPF? Check.
Here are the things you probably didn’t think of and trust me, you’ll be glad you packed them. Best part? They all fit in a carry-on.
Goodr Circle G Sunglasses – I Pickled These Myself
REEF Womens Bliss Nights Flip Flop
Pelican 2 Pack Marine – IP68 Waterproof Phone Pouch
Vollyc Portable Air Pump for Inflatables
Owala FreeSip Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle with Straw
Goodr Circle G Sunglasses – I Pickled These Myself – Yes, you are probably packing sunglasses. Easy. But, these specific sunglasses worked great for me on my trip. They’re polarized and sweat-proof, so you can see clearly through the water and they stay put in the sticky tropical air instead of sliding down your sweaty nose. And, the color is so fun and beachy. These are also so durable for the price. They survived salty air and blowing sand without a scratch. The last thing I’m doing is bringing an expensive pair of sunglasses to the beach to get damaged in those elements. They also come in a microfiber bag that can be used for easy lens cleaning, too.
REEF Womens Bliss Nights Flip Flop – Yes, you are also probably packing flip flops. These are the only pair of shoes that I packed for my trip for a few reasons: 1) They go from day to night so easily with the shimmery detail on the strap. 2) There is no break-in period. I was worried about getting a blister next to my big toe, but they had zero break in period. 3) The footbed stays fresh instead of getting gross after a few wears. And, I actually saw a few people on the trip wearing the same flip flops!
Pelican 2 Pack Marine – IP68 Waterproof Phone Pouch – There are a million waterproof phone pouches for sale on Amazon. I questioned the durability of all of them because I’m not risking my phone getting wet or sinking to the bottom of the ocean. I’ll gladly spend a little more money for that security. I found these Pelican bags that are not only super waterproof, but they float! I was going to buy a bag AND a separate float to attach to the bag until I found these. In the end, it was the same price as the crappy ones with a float attached.
Waterlife 4-in-1 Pool Hammock – I wouldn’t have thought to bring my own float if it wasn’t for some pre-trip internet research. Thanks, internet! Floating in the crystal clear, calm, tropical waters of the Caribbean was so relaxing. You can use this to lay flat like a hammock in the water or as a little floating seat, like a swing. When they are deflated, they are super small and carry-on friendly.
Vollyc Portable Air Pump for Inflatables – Hands-down the MVP of the trip. I watched people spend 30+ minutes trying to blow up floats with their mouths. One woman looked like she was going to pass out. This little pump fits in the palm of your hand, fills a float in seconds, and will absolutely startle you the first time you turn it on. Big jump scare from me. It’s that powerful.
Owala FreeSip Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle with Straw – This was perfect for water, but can also keep your drink of choice cold ALL DAY. Magic. I also used it on the plane and at the gym.
